Volunteer Opportunities

The Pritzker Military Library is looking for dedicated, reliable, and enthusiastic volunteers who would like to see history in the making.

Collections
Volunteers will have the opportunity to get involved on the frontlines of our library through duties such as collection maintenance, patron assistance, project research, packing and un-packing books, updating our inventory, and more.

Archives
Our archives include a wide range of fascinating military artifacts, from uniforms and letters to medals and photographs. Translation skills, educational experience, or previous experience in the field may be necessary for these projects.

Programs
Help assist guests and then attend programs free of charge!

Tours
Volunteer tour guides will be responsible for learning a 30-45 minute script which would take them through two floors of the library. Each tour will include the four main exhibit areas as well as information about the library. Guides will be asked to schedule at least one day a week, Tuesday-Saturday, from 10am-3pm. Experienced tour guides will also be responsible for training and testing new guides.

Requirements
Volunteers must be open to working with visitors from all walks of life. Attention to detail is a must. We ask that each volunteer commit to at least four hours a week. Volunteer schedules are flexible and will be scheduled through the Volunteer and Intern Manager.

The Library is currently seeking volunteers for Tuesday through Saturdays for various shifts between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with additional hours on Thursday evenings.

To apply, please send a resume and cover letter to volunteers@pritzkermilitarylibrary.org.
